Test 12A - Identifying Faulty Warning Light On Premium Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster
NOTE:

article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
A base Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) has only 3 gauges.
- If vehicle is equipped with a base MIC, go to TEST 12B. If vehicle is equipped with a premium MIC and CHECK GAUGES light is on at all times, go to TEST 12D. If vehicle is equipped with a premium MIC and CHECK GAUGES light is not on at all times, actuate sequential light test using DRB-II.
- If sequential light test did not pass, stop actuation of sequential light test and go to TEST 12C. If sequential light test passed, stop actuation of sequential light test, identify faulty warning light, and perform test as indicated. See WARNING LIGHT TEST DIRECTORY

Defective Warning Light Perform TEST CHECK ENGINE (1) * Door Ajar 13A Liftgate Ajar 43A Low Fuel (2) * Low Washer Fluid 44A (1) See appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article. (2) Go to step 3). - Ensure gas tank has more than 3 gallons in it. If fuel light is not on at all times, replace body controller. If fuel light is on at all times, turn ignition off and disconnect body controller connectors. Turn ignition on. If fuel light is still on, replace MIC. If fuel light is off, replace body controller.
