Speed Control Switch Test

  1. Remove ON/OFF speed control switch assembly and disconnect 2-way connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. Using a DVOM, touch one lead to pin No. 1 and the other to pin No. 2. Resistance should be 22,848-22,351 ohms. Press the OFF button, resistance should be 0-.5 ohms. Press the ON button, resistance should be 668-644 ohms. If resistance values are incorrect, replace switch.
  3. Remove SET/RESUME speed control switch assembly and disconnect 2-way connector.
  4. Using a DVOM, touch one lead to pin No. 1 and the other to pin No. 2. The DVOM should indicate no continuity (open circuit). Press the SET button, resistance should be 1978-2022 ohms. Press RESUME button, resistance should be 5558-5682 ohms. If resistance values are incorrect, replace switch.
