Service Procedure

ECM WIRE HARNESS REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Open hood.

2. Expose the five(5) severed wires in the ECM harness at the right hand side of the engine compartment. (See Figure 1.)
3. Strip the insulation back 13 mm from the end of the two (2) tan wires. Twist the bare wires together and solder to ensure a proper connection.

DO NOT utilize "crimp" type wire splicers or rely on a twisted connection without solder, as the splice may be exposed to adverse environmental conditions resulting in corrosion and the loss of electrical continuity.

4. Insulate the splice with electrical tape. Fold splice back along with three (3) adjacent severed wires and tape to the ECM harness.

5. Install Campaign Identification Label and close hood.
