Engine Speed Sensor Check

The engine speed sensor on this engine is the crank position sensor mounted underneath the ignition module. It produces an AC voltage sawtooth signal to communicate engine speed and crankshaft position.

DIS CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS (1)

Application Ohms @ 70°F (Ohms) Minimum Output While Cranking
2.5L 800-900 (2) N/A
(1) A flat steel tool placed against the tip of the sensor should verify that the sensor is magnetized.
(2) Cannot measure AC voltage output because the sensor mounts onto the bottom of the ignition module and is hidden/covered when combined assembly is installed.
