Keyless Entry Transmitter Unlock Function Inoperative At

Driver's Door

1) If power door locks do not operate properly, see appropriate DOOR LOCKS - POWER article in this section. If power door locks operate properly, use a test light and backprobe between keyless entry receiver terminal "B" (Tan wire) and ground. Observe test light and operate keyless entry transmitter UNLOCK button. If test light does not flash on once, check for poor connection. If connection is okay, replace keyless entry receiver.

2) If test light does flash, backprobe with test light between left front door lock motor terminal "B" (Tan wire) and ground. Observe test light and operate keyless entry transmitter unlock button.

3) If test light flashes, check Gray wire for an open circuit. If test light does not flash, check Tan wire for an open circuit.



Passenger Doors

1) If power door locks do not operate properly, see appropriate DOOR LOCKS - POWER article in this section. If power door locks operate properly, use a test light and backprobe between keyless entry receiver terminal "G" (White wire) and ground. Observe test light and operate keyless entry transmitter UNLOCK button twice within 5 seconds.

2) If test light flashes on once, check White wire for an open circuit between keyless entry receiver and splice. If test light does not flash on, check wiring for poor connection. If connection is okay, reprogram a known good transmitter and retest. If lock function remains inoperative, replace keyless entry receiver.
