Code 156/161 - TCS Motor Circuit Open - (With TCS): Notes

Code 156 - Left Rear
Code 161 - Right Rear

Identifies a TCS motor that cannot be energized due to an open circuit, not allowing for proper TCS operation. Code can be set only when TCS motor is commanded off. If EBTCM detects and out of range voltage on either TCS motor circuits, indicating an open circuit, a malfunction exists. If code is set, TCS is disabled and TCS warning light is illuminated.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Checks for proper TCS motor resistance.
Checks for open in TCS motor high circuit.
Checks for open in TCS motor low circuit.
Ensure malfunction was not due to poor terminal contact.
