Code 76/78 - Front Solenoid Circuit Open Or Shorted To Ground: Notes

Code 76 - Left Front Wheel
Code 78 - Right Front Wheel

This test identifies a solenoid that cannot be energized due to an open in driver circuitry, or is constantly energized due to a short to ground between solenoid driver and solenoid.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Checks for short to ground in solenoid control circuit.
Checks for open in control circuit.
Checks solenoid coil resistance.
Checks for open in battery feed to solenoid.
Checks for intermittent problem in solenoid circuit due to poor connector terminal contact.
