Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT Sensor Service:

Numbers in text refer to image references.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Relieve coolant pressure.
3. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Carefully remove sensor (2).


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat threads with sealant.
2. ECT sensor (2) into engine.

Tighten
ECT sensor to 25 Nm (18.5 lb. ft.).

3. ECT sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Refill lost coolant.
