Content Theft Deterrent System Arming & Disarming Customization
CTD system can be armed when doors are locked using either automatic power door lock switch while any door is open, and ignition key is removed from ignition switch. CTD system can be armed when doors are locked using Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter LOCK button, and ignition key is removed from ignition switch. CTD system can be disarmed when doors are unlocked using door key or RKE transmitter UNLOCK button. To customize these features, enter feature customization mode. See FEATURE CUSTOMIZATION MODE
. Insert door key fully into any door key cylinder. Turn and hold key to unlock position. Press horn symbol on RKE transmitter. Count number of chimes. Number of chimes corresponds with mode setting. Press horn symbol on RKE transmitter until number of chimes matches desired mode setting. See CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM ARMING & DISARMING MODES

CAUTION:
Mode 2 provides increased security. However, if CTD system is armed using Mode 2, and RKE transmitter is not available or is defective, OnStar(R) system (if equipped) will be unable to unlock vehicle remotely, and CTD system cannot be disarmed using door key. CTD system must be disarmed for engine to start.
