30 Minute Learn Procedure
NOTE:
This procedure is not available on vehicles equipped with option code (Z49).
NOTE:
If replacing a theft deterrent control module with an GM Special Parts Operation (SPO) replacement part, perform procedure to setup a new theft deterrent control module prior to 30-minute relearn procedure.
Use this procedure after replacing following components:
- Passkey III keys.
- Theft deterrent control module.
- Powertrain control module.
- Using a master Passkey III key, turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Observe SECURITY indicator, after approximately 10 minutes indicator will turn Off.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position, and wait 5 seconds.
- Repeat steps 1-4, 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles equaling 30 minutes. Vehicle is now ready to relearn Passlock™ sensor data code and/or passwords on next ignition switch transition from OFF to START.
- Using a master Passkey III key. Vehicle has now learned Passlock™ sensor data code and/or password and PCM has now learned fuel continue password.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs.
NOTE:
Vehicle learns Passlock™ sensor data code and/or password on next ignition switch transition from OFF to START. Ignition switch must turned to OFF position before attempting to start vehicle.
