Adding Keys

Tools Required: J 35628-A Vats/Pass Interrogator Tester

IMPORTANT: When servicing the PASS-Key(R) II system, obtain all the vehicle ignition keys. Verify the key code values with the J 35628-A.

In order to copy a PASS-Key(R) II ignition key, determine the necessary key code or resistance value.
Determine the master ignition key code using the J 35628-A as outlined in the following procedure:
IMPORTANT: Disconnect the tool wiring connectors.
1. 2.1. Turn ON the J 35628-A.
2. 2.2. Insert the key into the tool lock cylinder.
3. 2.3. Note the measured key code of the master ignition key as displayed on the key code reader.
4. 2.4. Obtain a key blank matching the key code.
5. 2.5. Cut the key blank to match the original key.
