Dismounting/Mounting Procedures: Notes
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 1996 Chevrolet Corvette, 1995 Chevrolet Corvette, 1994 Chevrolet Corvette, 1993 Chevrolet Corvette, and 1992 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
The tire should be dismounted from the wheel using the tire changer manufacturer's instructions. Use the following information to avoid damage during the dismounting/mounting procedures.
CAUTION:
If vehicle is equipped with "run-flat" tires or Extended Mobility Tires (EMT), it is recommended that only specially trained technicians dismount/mount these tires. A tire inflation safety cage and clip-on air hose are required, and a rim clamp style tire changer is recommended.
NOTE:
If vehicle's tires are replaced with those not having a TPC Spec number, the TPM system may give an inaccurate low pressure warning. Non-TPC Spec tires may give a low pressure warning that is higher or lower than the proper warning level achieved by TPC Spec numbered tires.
NOTE:
When replacing a wheel, the TPM sensor must be transferred to the new wheel, and the wheel reinstalled to its original position.
