Installation Procedure

Important: If the EBCM mounting bolts are corroded or damaged, do not reuse the old mounting bolts. Install new EBCM mounting bolts with the new EBCM.

Important: Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket or mating surfaces.

Install EBCM (2) to BPMV (4).
CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the four EBCM bolts (1).
Tighten

Tighten the four bolts to 5 N.m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.
Connect the four electrical connectors to the EBCM.
Install the EHCU Shield.
Tighten

Tighten the three bolts to 12 N.m (8 lb ft).

Lower the vehicle.
Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool .
Return to Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Abs .
