Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the coil spring and the upper insulator.
  2. Raise the rear axle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice on page P-9 in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the lower shock absorber retaining nut and bolt to the rear axle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the lower shock absorber retaining nut and bolt to 95 N.m (70 lb ft).

  4. Install the stabilizer shaft link to the frame.
  5. Install the stabilizer shaft link retaining nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the stabilizer shaft link retaining nut to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).

  6. Connect the electronic suspension control (ESC) sensor, if equipped. Refer to REAR POSITION SENSOR LINK ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT--ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).
  7. Remove the rear axle support.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
