Removal Procedure

Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
Remove the front fender lower cladding.
Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to MOLDING REPLACEMENT - ROCKER PANEL (XTREME) or MOLDING REPLACEMENT - ROCKER PANEL (BLAZER) or MOLDING REPLACEMENT - ROCKER PANEL (JIMMY) .
Drill out the rivets using a inch drill bit.
Remove the retaining plate.
