Fuel Tank Draining Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the fuel fill cap.
    CAUTION: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Use a hand or air operated pumping device in order to drain as much fuel out of the tank, through the fuel fill pipe as possible.
