Installation Procedure

  1. Pull the headliner down slightly and slide the forward reading lamp into place.

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the reading lamp.
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with OnStar®, install the microphone. Refer to OnStar Microphone Replacement in Cellular Communication.

  6. Position the forward reading lamp cover into the rear attaching hooks.
  7. If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof or with OnStar®, connect the electrical connectors.
  8. Rotate the front reading lamp cover forward into the lamp assembly. Snap the cover into place.
  9. If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, install the sunroof switch knob.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  11. Install the sunshade retainers.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retainer fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  12. Position the sunshade outer brackets to the headliner.
  13. Install the sunshades.

    Tighten:  Tighten the sunshade fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  14. IMPORTANT: If the vehicle is equipped with a side inflator module, position the inflator module tether rearward of the molding attaching clips.
  15. Install the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
