Removal & Installation: Compressor: Installation

- Install the compressor. See Figure . Install the compressor mounting bolts. Tighten to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove cap or tape from the discharge hose. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant hoses and the A/C refrigerant component.
- Install a new sealing washer to the discharge hose. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor. Install the discharge hose to compressor nut. See Figure . Tighten to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove cap or tape from the suction hose. Install a new sealing washer to the suction hose.
- Connect the suction hose to the compressor. Install the suction hose to compressor nut. Tighten to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the electrical connector to the compressor. Connect the engine harness electrical connector. See Figure .
- Install the air baffle. Install the air baffle bolts. See Figure . Tighten to specified torque. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Release the drive belt tensioner. Install the drive belt on to the compressor pulley. See Figure . Install the right side engine splash shield. Lower the vehicle. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
NOTE:
Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.
