Cruise Control Module (5.7L Engine): Installation

  1. Place cruise control module onto bracket. Install and tighten cruise control module bolts to 44 INCH lbs. (5 N.m). Inspect cable end to insure that the O-ring is in place. Pull the throttle body end of the cable until cable is tight, continue to hold while performing the following:
    1. Hook the cable bead (1) to the module ribbon (3). Rotate the cable end if necessary, to straighten the ribbon. Push the cable fitting end over the ribbon. Snap the cable end into the module. Ensure that the conduit tangs are engaged.
  2. Install the cable locking retainer to the module. Connect the cruise control module electrical connector. Install the electrical connector retainer. Align the cruise control module cover over the cable and bracket. Snap the cover closed over the flanges on the bracket. Install cruise control module and bracket to the left side engine compartment outer rail. Install and tighten cruise control module bracket bolts. Tighten rail bolts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m) and the other bolt to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m).
  3. Route the throttle body end of the cruise control cable up to the throttle body. Install the left front bumper fascia lower deflector. Lower the vehicle. Rotate the upper cam, and install the cruise control cable slug to the servo cable adjuster. Slide the cable onto the slot, ensure locking tab is snapped into position. Slide the cruise control servo cable adjuster cover down and snap into place. Adjust the cruise control cable see CRUISE CONTROL CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS.


  1. Place the cruise control module onto the bracket. Install the cruise control module bolts and tighten to 44 INCH lbs. (5 N.m). Inspect the cable end to insure that the O-ring is in place. Align the cruise control module cover over the cable and bracket. Snap the cover closed over the flanges on the bracket. Install the cruise control module and bracket to the left side engine compartment outer rail. Install and tighten cruise control module bracket bolts. Tighten rail bolts to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m) and the other bolt to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m).
  3. Route the throttle body end of the cruise control cable up to the throttle body. Install the left front bumper fascia lower deflector. Lower the vehicle. Slide the cruise control servo cable adjuster cover down and snap into place. Rotate the throttle lever rearward. Snap the cruise control cable end to the throttle lever. Align cable and slide onto slot, locking tab must be snapped into position. Adjust the cruise control cable see CRUISE CONTROL CABLE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
