Fuel Pressure Regulator: Installation

    NOTE: If reusing fuel pressure regulator, inspect filter screen for contamination. If filter screen is contaminated, replace fuel pressure regulator.
  1. Lubricate NEW "O" rings with clean engine oil. Install back-up ring, upper "O" ring, filter and lower "O" ring. See Figure. Install fuel pressure regulator with vacuum tube pointing down toward retaining clip.
  2. Install fuel pressure regulator retaining clip. Install upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect negative battery cable.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position for 2 seconds. Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Check for fuel leaks. Repair as necessary.
