Installation Procedure

CAUTION:
Do not use or attempt to repair a damaged cooling fan assembly. Replace damaged fans with new assemblies. An unbalanced cooling fan could fly apart causing personal injury and property damage.
- Install the fan clutch onto the fan blade.
- Install the fan clutch bolts. Tighten the fan clutch bolts to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
- Install the fan assembly.
- If equipped with a 6.6L, engine, install the J41240-5A to the fan clutch.
- If equipped with a 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L or 8.1L engine, install the J 41240 to the fan clutch. Tighten the fan clutch nut to 56 N.m (41 lb ft).
- Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper (W/O M74) or Fan Shroud Replacement - Upper (W/M74) .
