Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Sierra, 2002 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2002 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the bolts that retain the upper fender brace assembly.
  2. Remove the upper fender brace assembly.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector at the cruise control module.
  4. Remove the nuts retaining the cruise control module to the cowl.

  5. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the module. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement (4.3L Engine)  or Cruise Control Cable Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L & 6.0L Engines)  .
  6. Remove the cruise control module from the vehicle.
