Accelerator Controls Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the accelerator cable shield, if equipped. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable bracket.
  2. Remove the push-in retainers from the Insulator Panel (IP) insulator to instrument panel. Remove the press-on retainers from the IP insulator to dash mat. Unsnap the IP courtesy lamp from the IP insulator. Remove the IP insulator from the instrument panel.
  3. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal. Squeeze the accelerator cable cover tangs and push the accelerator cable through the bulkhead. Remove the accelerator cable from the vehicle. Note the cable routing for aid in installation. See Figure .
