HVAC Module Assembly: Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system (if equipped). Drain the engine coolant.
  2. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir or surge tank. Remove the battery from the vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the low pressure sensor.
  3. Remove the accumulator (if equipped). Remove the evaporator tube from the evaporator. (if equipped).
  4. Remove the insulator cover. See Figure. Remove the evaporator case front cover retaining screws. Remove the evaporator front cover.
  5. Separate the module halves. Remove the nuts retaining the HVAC module. Remove the HVAC module from the vehicle.
