Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Push the theft deterrent module (2), onto the lock cylinder housing (1).
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Theft Deterrent Module

  3. Install the theft deterrent wiring harness to the steering column harness.
  4. Connect the electrical connector.
  5. Replace the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT - ON VEHICLE in Steering Wheel and Column.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in Restraints.
  7. Program the new theft control module. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components .
