Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the headlamps. Refer to HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT - SEALED BEAM .
  4. Remove the hood latch cover. Refer to Hood Latch Cover Replacement .
  5. Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement .
  6. Remove the auxiliary engine cooler, if equipped. Refer to ENGINE OIL COOLER REPLACEMENT - AUXILIARY .
  7. Remove the auxiliary transmission cooler, if equipped.
  8. Remove the air baffle from the radiator support, if equipped. Refer to Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator .
  9. Remove the coolant recovery tank or the surge tank. Refer to SURGE TANK REPLACEMENT or to COOLANT RECOVERY RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT .
  10. Remove the air cleaner assembly. For the 6.5L engine, refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY .
  11. Remove the air conditioning condenser from the radiator support (2). Refer to CONDENSER .
  12. Remove the radiator from the radiator support (1). Refer to RADIATOR REPLACEMENT .
  13. Remove the forward lamp harness from the radiator support (1).
  14. Remove the bolts (3) retaining the radiator support (1) to the vehicle.
  15. Remove the radiator support (1) from the vehicle.
