Installation Procedure

  1. Position the new cable in the vehicle in the same location as the old cable.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the positive battery cable to starter solenoid nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  3. Tape the cables together at the transmission electrical connector.
  4. Tape the cables together at the battery tray.

  5. Install power lead bolt to fuse/relay center.

  6. Install fuse/relay center.
  7. Install the positive battery cable end onto the battery.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the battery positive cable terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE  .
  9. Install the outlet duct and resonator. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Engine Controls.
