Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the BCM bracket (1) as an assembly if required.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Install the BCM bracket nuts (2) if required.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  4. Install the BCM into the BCM bracket until lock tabs are fully seated.
  5. Connect the BCM electrical connectors to the BCM.
  6. Install the BCM wire harness retainer to the BCM bracket.

  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  8. Reprogram the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
