Installation Procedure

  1. Install the multifunction switch (2) to the steering column tilt head. Verify that the electrical contact of the turn signal switch rests on the horn ring.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the multifunction switch screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (26 lb in).

  4. Fig 2: Turn Signal & Multifunction Switch Assembly Connectors

  5. Install 2 electrical connectors (2) of the multifunction switch into the bulkhead connector.
  6. Connect the multifunction switch connector to the SIR coil connector.

  8. Attach the wire harness (1) to the steering column with new wire harness straps.
  9. Install the wire harness (1) to the wire harness strap.
  10. Install the SIR coil to the steering column shaft. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement in SIR.
  11. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  12. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
