Powertrain Control Module: Removal

  1. PCM is located behind the right front fender, between the wheelhouse and the dash panel, below the battery. See Figure. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the right front tire and wheel.
  2. Remove the bolts attaching the right front wheelhouse filler panel. See Figure. Remove the filler panel. Remove the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) module.
  3. Disconnect the PCM electrical harness connectors. Loosen, but do not remove, the PCM rear retaining bolt. Use the rear retaining bolt as an anchor for the outer bracket. Remove the front retaining bolt from the PCM. Reposition the PCM outer bracket. Remove the PCM from the bracket and the vehicle.
