Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: The console shift lever bezel must be removed prior to removing the traction control switch.
  1. Remove the shift lever bezel. Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Oldsmobile, Buick) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the switch.

  5. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the ring tabs (1).

  7. Remove the retaining ring from the switch.

  9. Remove the switch (1) from the trim plate.
