Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the SIR wiring harness to the module.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Install the inflatable side impact module to the seat back frame with the 2 screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the top of the seat belt retractor assembly to the seat back frame with the plastic push pin (2).
  6. Install the front seat back panel. Refer to Seat Back Panel Replacement - Front in Seats.
  7. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front in Seats.
  8. Install the seat trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement in Seats.
  9. Install the seat assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2  and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 .
