Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer toLifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer toTire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Suspension.
  3. Remove the brake caliper assembly. Refer toBrake Caliper Replacement - Front .
  4. Inspect the brake caliper assembly. Refer toBrake Caliper Inspection .

  6. Remove the brake pad retaining clip from the brake caliper.

  8. Remove the brake pads from the brake mounting bracket.

  10. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket retaining bolts, lower bolt shown.

  12. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket.

  14. Remove the brake pad retaining clips from the mounting bracket.

  16. Remove the guide pin bushing from the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  17. Clean the brake caliper mounting bracket with denatured alcohol.
  18. Dry the brake caliper mounting bracket using non-lubricated, filtered air.
