Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the brake caliper assembly. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - Rear .
  4. Inspect the brake caliper assembly. Refer to Brake Caliper Inspection .

  5. Remove the brake pad retaining clip from the brake caliper.

  6. Remove the brake pads from the brake caliper mounting bracket.

  7. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket.

  8. Remove the brake pad retaining clips from the brake caliper mounting bracket.

  9. Remove the brake caliper guide pins from the brake caliper mounting bracket.

  10. Remove the guide pin bushing from the brake caliper mounting bracket.
  11. Clean the brake caliper mounting bracket with denatured alcohol.
  12. Dry the brake caliper mounting bracket using non-lubricated, filtered air.
