Installation Procedure

  1. Align the inflatable restraint I/P module to the I/P trim pad.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Route the PSIR wire harness under the locating rib and attach the metal edge clips to the I/P trim pad.
  5. Install the I/P trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  7. Install the inflatable restraint I/P module bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3  and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .
