Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the battery.
  2. Install the battery hold down retainer (1), nut (3), and washer.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  4. Install the battery cover.

  6. Install the battery tray brace bolts/nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts/nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the battery air duct to the battery cover.

  10. Install the coolant heater cord retainers (1) to the battery cover, if equipped.

  12. Position the positive battery cable (4) to the battery.
  13. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  14. Connect the negative battery cable (5). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
