Accelerator Controls Pedal: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Cadillac Seville and 2003 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the accelerator control pedal to the brake and accelerator controls pedal assembly. Install the plastic retainer inside the accelerator controls pedal. Install the clip onto the accelerator controls pedal. Install the accelerator control cable to the pedal by pulling the accelerator controls pedal straight out and down towards the top of the accelerator control pedal.
  2. The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator controls pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator controls pedal. Slide the insulator over the top of the emergency brake bracket.
  3. Reconnect the electrical connectors. Set the forward edge of the insulator onto the shelf of the carpeting at the front of the vehicle. Align the closeout lower insulator panel with the floor duct at the HVAC module.
  4. Align the snap tab fasteners with the lower insulator panel and push the insulator upward in order to engage the fasteners. Install the closeout lower insulator panel fasteners into lower insulator panel. Tighten the fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
