Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the spindle rod (5) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the spindle rod (5) to the knuckle (8).
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the spindle rod to knuckle bolt (4) and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 150 N.m (110 lb ft).

  6. Install the spindle rod to the rear suspension support.
  7. Install the bolt (1) and nut to the rear suspension support.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 140 N.m (103 lb ft).

  9. Install the rear suspension support. Refer to Support Replacement .
  10. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Adjust the wheel toe angle. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications (Front) or Wheel Alignment Specifications (Rear) in Wheel Alignment.
