Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the rear suspension support in place.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the rear wheel spindle rod-to-rear suspension support bolts and nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 140 N.m (103 lb ft).

  4. Install the rear suspension support mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).

  6. Position the rear wheel spindle rod to the knuckle.
  7. Install the retaining bolts and nuts to the knuckle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 150 N.m (110 lb ft).

  8. Install the stabilizer shaft to the rear suspension support. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
  9. Connect the brake lines to the rear suspension support. Refer to Brake Hose Replacement - Rear in Hydraulic Brakes.
  10. Install the parking brake cables and the tensioner. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement - Rear (Z7U) in Park Brake.
  11. Install the exhaust pipe. Refer to Muffler Replacement (Single) or Muffler Replacement (Dual) in Engine Exhaust.
  12. Install the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Adjust the rear wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in Wheel Alignment.
