July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Align the starter motor to the engine.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the starter bolts (1,2) finger tight until seated.

    Tighten:  Tighten the starter bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

  5. Install the positive battery cable (3) and the solenoid BAT terminal nut (2). Tighten finger tight to the starter motor.
  6. Install the starter solenoid wire (8) and the starter solenoid S terminal nut (9). Tighten finger tight to the starter motor.

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the solenoid BAT terminal nut (2) to 9.5 N.m (84 lb in).
    2. Tighten the starter solenoid S terminal nut (9) to 2.3 N.m (20 lb in).

  8. Install the torque converter covers. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65 - E.
  9. Install the front lower air deflector panel. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle and Deflector Replacement - Lower in Engine Cooling.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
