Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the cruise control switch (1) to the steering wheel (2).
  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the steering wheel shroud (3) to the steering wheel.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the steering wheel shroud screws (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the steering wheel shroud screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  6. Install the cruise control switch screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the cruise control switch screws to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  8. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  9. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in SIR.
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
