Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the door pillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key when performing service in the area of the SIS.
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 .
  2. Lower the headliner to access the inflator module. Refer to Headliner Replacement in Interior Trim.

  4. Release the connector positive assurance (CPA) (1) on the inflator harness connector (2).

  6. Disconnect the harness connector (2) from the inflator (3).
  7. Remove the headliner electrical harness push-in connector from the inflator bracket.
  8. Remove the screws (1) from the roof rail module.

  10. Remove the push-in retainer (2) from the inflator bracket (1).
  11. Remove the screw (3) from the inflator bracket.
  12. Remove the roof rail module from the vehicle.
