Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: The key should be in the off position when connecting the HVAC control module electrical connector to ensure proper calibration.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the HVAC control module.

  3. Install the HVAC control module into the I/P.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the retaining screws (1) to secure the HVAC control module.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P center compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Center in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  7. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  8. IMPORTANT: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result. The engine must be running for proper calibration to occur.
  9. Start and allow the engine to run for at least one minute.
