Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the radio to the I/P.
  2. Connect the I/P wiring harness connectors and the antenna cable connector to the radio.

    IMPORTANT: If the radio locator is difficult to align to the I/P locator opening, pull the radio toward you and reposition the antenna cable.

  4. Install the radio to the I/P.

    Align the radio locator to the hole in the I/P while pressing the radio into position.

  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the radio screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to HVAC Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC Systems-Manual.
  8. Install the I/P center compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) - Center in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  9. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Perform the radio set up procedure for new radios. Refer to Radio Setup .
