Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the pump motor connector (3) to the bottom of the EBCM.
  2. Install the EBCM (1) to the BPMV (4).
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the 6 EBCM to BPMV retaining bolt/screws (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining bolt/screws to 2.9 N.m (26 lb in).

  6. Connect the EBCM harness connector.

  8. Reengage the locking tab (1) to the EBCM harness connector.
  9. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  10. Reposition the module and cables. Connect the cruise control module to the left strut tower.
  11. Connect the accelerator and cruise control cable to the accelerator control cable bracket.
  12. Install the front fender upper diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal in Body Front End.
  13. Install the fuel injector sight shield, 3.8L engine only. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L26) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L32) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  14. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position, do not start engine.
  15. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS .
