Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.

  3. Remove the left instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Outboard) or Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Inboard) in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  4. Disconnect the accelerator cable (5) from the accelerator pedal (1).
  5. Squeeze the accelerator cable cover tangs and push the accelerator cable through the bulkhead.

  7. Remove the accelerator cable shield, if equipped.
  8. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the retaining clip.
  9. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever.
  10. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the accelerator cable bracket.
  11. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable bracket.

  13. Remove the accelerator cable from the vehicle noting cable routing.
