Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Locating Ground Lead & Bolt, Positive Cable Lead

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the positive cable to the harness conduit.
  2. Install the positive cable nut (3) at the starter solenoid.

    Tighten:  Tighten the positive cable nut at the starter solenoid to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the positive cable to the generator:
    1. Install the positive cable to the stud.
    2. Install the positive cable nut at the generator.

      Tighten:  Tighten the positive cable nut at the generator to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    3. Slide the boot over the generator stud.
  5. Install the positive cable cover to the cable.
  6. Install the positive cable to the stud on the fuse block:
    1. Install the positive cable to the stud.
    2. Install the positive cable nut at the fuse block.

      Tighten:  Tighten the positive cable nut at the fuse block to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).

    3. Close the positive cable cap.
  7. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
