Data Display/Definitions

The Scan Tool Data Display/Definitions contains a brief description of all the antilock brake system (ABS), traction control system (TCS), and vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) data parameters. The menus available depend on the number and type of system on the vehicle and are listed below in alphanumeric order.

TCS DATA

ABS Pump Motor: The scan tool displays On or Off. The scan tool will display On when the ABS is active and Off during normal vehicle operation.
ABS Warning Lamp: The scan tool will display On or Off depending on the state of the ABS indicator.
Brake Switch: The scan tool will display Applied or Released depending on the state of the brake switch.
Brake Warning Lamp: The scan tool will display On or Off depending on the state of the brake switch.
Delivered Torque: The scan tool displays 0-100 percent in Engine Control Data List or N-m in ABS Data List. The scan tool displays the duty cycle of the Delivered Torque PWM signal. The duty cycle of the signal is used to transmit how much engine torque the PCM is delivering. Normal values are between 10 and 90 percent duty cycle. The signal is at low values, approximately 10 percent, at idle and at higher values under driving conditions.
DRP Active: The scan tool will display Yes/No depending on the state of the dynamic rear proportion (DRP).
DRP Disabled: The scan tool will display Yes/No depending on the state of the DRP.
Engine RPM: The scan tool will display between 0 to 10200 RPM which is a digital tachometer display.
ETS Switch: The scan tool displays On or Off. The scan tool displays Off if the TCS indicator is currently being commanded ON.
ETS Switch Status: The scan tool displays Pressed or Released. The scan tool will display the state of the Traction Control Switch.
ETS Warning Lamp: The scan tool will display On or Off depending on the state of the TCS indicator.
Ignition Voltage: The scan tool displays 0-17 Volts. The scan tool displays the level of ignition voltage at the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
LF Inlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool will display Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LF inlet solenoid valve.
LF Outlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool will display Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LF outlet solenoid valve.
Left Front Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph). The scan tool displays the actual speed of the left front wheel.
Left Rear Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph). The scan tool displays the actual speed of the left rear wheel.
LR Inlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LR inlet solenoid valve.
LR Outlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the LR outlet solenoid valve.
Pump Motor Relay: The scan tool will display between On or Off. The scan tool displays the feed back state of the pump motor relay.
Requested Torque: The scan tool displays 0-100 percent in Engine Control Data List or N-m in ABS Data List. The scan tool displays the duty cycle of the Requested Torque PWM signal. The duty cycle of the signal is used to transmit how much torque the EBCM is requesting the PCM to deliver. Normal values are between 10 and 90 percent duty cycle. The signal should be at 90 percent duty cycle when traction control is not active and at a lower value, approximately 10 percent, when the traction control is active.
RF Inlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RF inlet solenoid valve.
RF Outlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RF outlet solenoid valve.
Right Front Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph). The scan tool displays the actual speed of the right front wheel.
RR Inlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive - The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RR inlet solenoid valve.
RR Outlet Valve Solenoid Inactive: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive - The scan tool displays the commanded state of the RR outlet solenoid valve.
Right Rear Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph). The scan tool displays the actual speed of the right rear wheel.
Valve Relay State: The scan tool will display On/Off depending on the state of the relay.
