Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with the scan tool.
  2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensor connector.
  3. Ignition OFF for 30 seconds, test for less than 15 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If greater than 15 ohms, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
  4. Test the lateral accelerometer 12-volt ignition circuit terminal 1 for a short to voltage or ground.
    • If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw rate sensor/lateral acceleration sensor, cycle the ignition switch and perform the yaw rate sensor recalibration procedure with the scan tool.
    • If the DTC sets again after replacing the yaw rate sensor/lateral acceleration sensor, replace the EBCM.
