Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. NOTE: Do not disconnect the power steering fluid lines/hoses from the reservoir.
  3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir bolts and reposition the power steering fluid reservoir in order to provide access. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (3.6L Engine) .
  4. Fig 1: Identifying CMP Sensor & Electrical Connector

  5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor (2).

  7. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1).
  8. Remove the CMP sensor (2) from the engine front cover.
